Brothers, including one from Muhlenberg County, have been arrested in the murder of a 21-year-old woman over 10 years ago.

The U.S. Marshals Service arrested 32-year-old Joey McCartney, of Graham, and his brother, 36-year-old Jesse McCartney, of Kokomo, Indiana, Thursday morning on warrants containing a “preliminary charge of murder” in the shooting death of Destiny Pittman, of Kokomo, on February 7, 2013, WTHR.com reports.

Pittman was shot to death when she confronted two armed intruders after they broke into the home she shared with her boyfriend and two children, according to the Kokomo Tribune. Pittman’s children and a female roommate were in the residence at the time of the shooting but were unhurt.

Joey McCartney is being held in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center as a “fugitive from another state.” His brother was arrested at a Kokomo home. He’s being held in the Howard County (IN) Detention Center.
