The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office is looking to add to its roster of deputies.

Sheriff Norman Chaffins, in a social media post, said his office is currently hiring for the position of deputy sheriff. He said applicants must be at least 21-years-old, have a high school diploma and no felony convictions.

Applicants must also pass a background check and drug test.

Benefits of the position include a take-home vehicle, paid health insurance, hazardous duty retirement, paid sick, holiday and vacation time.

Anyone interested in joining the sheriff’s office may visit www.gcsheriff.net to access the application process.

You may drop off your application at the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office at 117 South Main Street in Leitchfield. You may also email your app to sheriff@gcsheriff.net.

The sheriff’s office currently has nine road deputies, including Chief Deputy Sonny Poteet and Det. Wally Ritter, plus Chaffins. Deputy Caleb Owens is currently working shifts, and is included in the nine current road deputies, but he also serves as the Caneyville School Resource Officer and will presumably return to that role once school begins in August.
