Over 400 customers were left without electricity and Anneta Road was closed for just over two hours on Thursday after a large tree fell across the road, taking down power lines in the process.
The tree fell in the 3100 block of Anneta Road Thursday afternoon at approximately 1:00 and struck power lines, knocking out electricity to approximately 450 customers in the area.
The Leitchfield Fire Department, Constable Mark Stanton, the state Highway Department, Warren RECC, and Nolin RECC employees responded to the scene. State Highway Department employees cut up and removed the tree from the roadway.
While workers removed the tree from the road and repaired power lines, traffic was diverted around the scene onto Bloomington Road.
Power was restored and the roadway reopened to normal traffic flow at 3:15 Thursday afternoon.
