Ohio Co. deputy involved in fatal shooting

Kentucky State Police is investigating a fatal deputy-involved shooting in Ohio County.

KSP Post 16 Public Affairs Officer Corey King said the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office requested state police investigate a deputy-involved shooting Monday night at approximately 7:05 near Horse Branch.

Deputies were responding to an unknown disturbance which resulted in a deputy shooting a male.

The man was transported to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The names of the deputy involved in the shooting and the deceased male have not been released.

The investigation is ongoing by the Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team.
