Crossover crash kills one, seriously injures two in Barren Co.

A man has been killed and two people seriously injured in a crossover crash in Barren County.

Kentucky State Police said troopers responded Friday evening at approximately 7:30 to near the five-mile-marker of Scottsville Road (Hwy 31-E), at the intersection of Browning School Road.

The preliminary investigation indicated that 50-year-old Chadwick Maxey, of Gallatin, Tennessee, was driving a 2013 GMC truck south on Scottsville Road when the vehicle crossed the center line and struck a northbound 2001 GMC truck, being driven by 50-year-old David Crawford, of Lucas (Barren Co.).

Maxey was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Barren County Coroner’s Office. Crawford and his passenger, 46-year-old Coy Bragg, of Glasgow, were airlifted to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

The accident investigation is being led by Trooper Michael Wathen.
