A Leitchfield felon has been arrested on drug charges after a search warrant was executed at his residence.

After a short investigation, the Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force recently served a search warrant at 62 Terra Woods Drive.

Upon arriving at the home, police made contact with 59-year-old Darrell L. Embry. During a search of the home, authorities located methamphetamine, a large amount of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and items used to manufacture methamphetamine, police said.

Embry was arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Charges related to methamphetamine manufacturing are pending, police said. He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.

The suspect, according to the Kentucky Department of Corrections, has several convictions dating back to 1997 in Edmonson, Christian and Meade counties for first-degree assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), manufacturing methamphetamine and unlawful possession of a meth precursor, among other convictions.

He is on probation until October 2029.

According to an online search, his most recent arrest occurred in August 2021 in Breckinridge County where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana, careless driving, and possession of drug paraphernalia. It’s unclear if that case has been adjudicated.
