A Caneyville woman has been arrested after providing juveniles with THC gummies and alcohol, resulting in all suffering adverse reactions.
Last week, Grayson County Sgt. Jordan Jones and Leitchfield Police Department Officer Ty Whitaker and EMS were dispatched to a home on Southland Drive in Caneyville on the report of possible overdoses involving two females, ages 14 and 16, and 41-year-old Jennifer D. Cook, according to the arrest citation.
When officers arrived on scene, EMS personnel told Jones and Whitaker that the three people had ingested THC gummies. The gummies were purchased at a Grayson County convenience store, police said.
All three were transported to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center by EMS. They were later released.
Upon talking to the juveniles, police learned that Cook had purchased the gummies for the two juveniles using one of the girl’s money, the citation states.
While speaking with the second juvenile, she advised police that Cook had also provided alcohol, including moonshine, to the girls.
Cook, while being interviewed, admitted to purchasing the gummies and providing the girls with alcohol.
She was arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree criminal abuse and two counts of third-degree unlawful transaction with a minor. Cook was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center but is no longer listed as an inmate.
THC is the principal psychoactive ingredient in cannabis.
