A Leitchfield man has been arrested after allegedly molesting two children.
Jared T. Joyce, 37, was arrested by the Bowling Green Police Department on Wednesday morning on a complaint warrant filed by the Leitchfield Police Department.
The complaint warrant states that the two young victims told police that Joyce “touched them sexually and penetrated one of them several times with his penis.”
“It was said that Mr. Joyce forced the juveniles to perform oral sex on him, and he would perform oral sex on the children,” according to the warrant.
The children also told police that Joyce taught them how to make a sex toy out of rubber gloves. When questioned about the rubber gloves, Joyce, who denied the sodomy allegations, told police that he “learned the method from inmates while working at the Grayson County Detention Center (Joyce has not worked at the detention center in several years).”
There are additional descriptions that the children gave police during forensic interviews related to their alleged molestation by Joyce, but K105, at this time, has chosen not to publish that information due to the extreme sexually graphic nature of the claims.
After being questioned by police regarding the allegations, Joyce apparently fled Kentucky, as Flock cameras indicate the suspect traveled through Tennessee, Alabama and Florida, according to the complaint warrant. Joyce then contacted a friend who lives in Florida from a private number, according to the complaint warrant, and told the friend that he was three hours from the friend’s home “and was implying that he was going to harm himself.”
Joyce, at the time of publication, was being held in the Warren County Regional Jail on a $100,000 cash bond.
First-degree sodomy is a class B felony, punishable by up to 20 years in prison, unless the victim[s] are under the age of 12, in which case the charge is a class A felony, punishable by up to 50 years in prison.
