An Elizabethtown man has been sentenced in a fatal crash that killed a Hodgenville couple.

Sean M. Tolliver, 41, was indicted by a Hardin County Grand Jury in April 2023 on two counts of murder, first-degree assault and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicants. He was found guilty last week of two counts of second-degree manslaughter and second-degree wanton endangerment, according to a report by The News-Enterprise.

The conviction comes after Tolliver, in October 2022, was traveling west in the 2600 block of Hodgenville Road (Hwy 210), at the Elizabethtown Country Club, when he swerved into the eastbound lane and struck a vehicle head-on.

The two adults in the vehicle Tolliver struck, 44-year-old Jonathan Peddicord and his wife, 42-year-old Tania Peddicord, were killed in the crash. Their eight-year-old daughter was airlifted to Norton Children’s Hospital. She survived the wreck.

Tolliver was sentenced to 20 years in prison, which was the jury’s recommendation, The News-Enterprise reports. He will be eligible for parole after serving 20 percent of his sentence.
