A juvenile missing from Hart County has been found in Ohio.

The Hart County Sheriff’s Office said the male juvenile, a student at Hart Co. High School, boarded a school bus and left the high school on April 29. The bus made a stop at Munfordville Elementary School where the juvenile exited the bus and began walking toward Hwy 31-W and disappeared.

The juvenile’s phone number was pinged through Kentucky State Police dispatch, according to the sheriff’s office. The phone information indicated that the juvenile was in the vicinity of Hwy 88 and Craddock Road in Hart County.

During this time, the juvenile was contacted via his phone where he indicated that he was not in the Hwy 88 area, but was instead in a wooded area behind Munfordville Elementary School.

“Other evidence indicated that the juvenile was not in the location where he was reporting,” the sheriff’s office said, and “an extensive search resulted in the juvenile not being located (on) that date.”

The juvenile was entered into a national data as a missing/runway person.

On Sunday, the Hart County Sheriff’s Office was notified that the juvenile had been located by police in Eaton, Ohio, approximately 230 miles from Munfordville.

The juvenile has been safely returned to Hart County.
