Roadwork will take place on the Western Kentucky Parkway and US 62 in Hardin County.
The projects include crews overlaying “a high friction surface” on both thoroughfares, according to Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 4 Public Information Officer Chris Jessie.
Varying nightly lane closures
On Monday and Tuesday nights, there will be lane closures on westbound US 62 between the I-65 overpass and Commerce Drive. Motorists using the southbound I-65 exit ramp to westbound US 62 and the northbound I-65 exit ramp to westbound US 62 will also need to be aware of these lane closures. Work will take place between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. each night.
On Wednesday and Thursday nights, there will be lane closures at the end of eastbound Western Kentucky Parkway between the I-65 overpass and US 31W. Motorists using the northbound I-65 exit ramp to the parkway eastbound and the southbound I-65 exit ramp to the parkway eastbound will also need to be aware of these lane closures. Work will take place between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. each night.
“Work at these interchanges (Exits 94 and 91) will take place at night to minimize traffic impacts and to allow work to progress more efficiently,” Jessie said. “Motorists should slow down and pay close attention to work zone signage in these areas.”
