A man has been charged with raping and strangling a woman in a domestic violence assault at a western Kentucky campground.

Kentucky State Police earlier this month received information that a female victim said she was held against her will and sexually and physically assaulted at Eddy Vegas Campground in Eddyville.

The initial investigation resulted in a warrant of arrest issued for 28-year-old Timothy E. Doe, of Chicago, Illinois, for first-degree strangulation (domestic violence).

Further investigation, according to state police, led to the discovery of additional evidence that resulted in Doe being charged with first-degree rape (domestic violence), first-degree sodomy (domestic violence) and kidnapping.

He was found and arrested in Eddyville by Kentucky State Police and lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing by KSP Det. Eric West.

Anyone with information related to this incident or anyone who has previous encounters with Doe is encouraged to contact Kentucky State Police at 270-856-3721 or submit a tip through the KSP website tip line.
