A woman has been arrested on a murder charge for selling a man a fatal dose of fentanyl.
Courtney K. Boone, 37, of East Bernstadt, was arrested Thursday morning by the U.S. Marshal’s Service – Central Kentucky Fugitive Task Force and Laurel County Sheriff’s Office on a murder charge for allegedly selling a 26-year-old man fentanyl that he smoked in a methamphetamine pipe, according to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.
Boone was originally arrested on a murder charge on October 27, 2025, according to online records. She was indicted on the murder count in January 2026, but she had been released from Laurel County Corrections. Police, presumably, had been searching for Boone since her January indictment.
The incident took place on July 13, 2025.
Boone is being held in Laurel County Corrections on a $100,000 cash bond.
