Roger Dale Hart, age 77, of Leitchfield, passed away Wednesday, (May 6, 2026) at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was born on May 4, 1949 in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late
Emmett and Hattie Love Hart.
Roger was a simple man who loved tinkering in his garage and going fishing. He was a loving dad and papaw to his children and grandchildren.
Roger was also a member of Big Clifty Church of Christ.
He is survived by his children, Tracy Saltsman (David) of Big Clifty and Greg Hart (Missy) of Leitchfield; five grandchildren, Tara Drake, Toni Finley, Logan Hart, Dalton Snyder (Daphanie) and Jacob Hart (Raylen); four great-grandchildren, Kyran, Keegan, Zoie and Bennett; a sister, Vicky Crawford (Marcus) of Big Clifty; and a brother, Michael Hart (Kathy) of Leitchfield. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Mae Hart and nephew, Brian Crawford.
Cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. Monday, (May 11, 2026) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. at the Dermitt Funeral Home until time of services.
