Two officers at the Kentucky State Penitentiary in Eddyville have been fired after assaulting an inmate.

The guards, Lt. Raymond Marzilli and Captain Adam Noles, were fired after being accused by an inmate of ramming his head into a wall, according to the Herald-Leader.

The inmate wrote to Kentucky Department Corrections Commission Cookie Crews earlier this year and said the incident occurred on February 25, 2026, when Marzilli “grabbed his head and rammed it into a wall while the inmate was handcuffed,” according to WKYT.com.

The following day, the inmate was charged with assaulting a corrections officer.

Following a review of surveillance video and interviews, Marzilli and Nole were fired and Sgt. Lucas Stahl was suspended for failing to report the incident.
