Where to vote as Primary Election decides Grayson Co. Sheriff, County Clerk & 2 Magisterial seats, among other races

The 2026 Primary Election is on Tuesday and there are seven polling locations open to any registered voter in Grayson County to cast their vote.

All polls are open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Polling locations

Centre on Main – 425 South Main Street in Leitchfield

Church of Joy Gymnasium – 100 Schoolhouse Road

Old Caneyville School – 202 East Maple Street in Caneyville

Falls of Rough Fire Dept. – 123 Green Farm Road in ​Falls of Rough

Rock Creek Voting House – 10658 Grayson Springs Road

Clarkson Community Center/City Hall – 213 Millerstown Street in Clarkson

Big Clifty Community Center – 280 Cemetery Road in Big Clifty

The election slate includes five hotly contested local races (candidates listed in the same order as they appear on the ballot)

  • Grayson Co. Sheriff (Republican): Clarkson Police Chief Billy “Buck” Meredith versus Grayson Co. Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Sonny Poteet
  • Grayson Co. Clerk (Republican): Incumbent Grayson Co. Clerk Tonya Kessinger versus longtime Clerk’s office employee Stephanie Brooks
  • 3rd District Magistrate (Non-partisan): Incumbent Brenda Huffman is challenged by Dustin King and Elissa Hudson
  • 4th District Magistrate (Non-partisan): Former magistrate Damon Hornback versus incumbent Jason Dennis
  • 5th District Constable (Non-partisan): Incumbent Mark H. Stanton is challenged by Matthew Logsdon

Local ballot measures

Clarkson voters only: Are you in favor of the sale of alcoholic beverages in the City Limits of Clarkson, Kentucky?

South Leitchfield voters only: Are you in favor of the sale of alcoholic beverages by the drink at a golf course or courses in the South A E104 precinct?

For the first time since 1984, retiring U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell is not on the ballot, as 11 GOP and seven Democratic hopefuls vie to fill the longtime senator’s spot.
