Three fire departments responded to a residential fire between Caneyville and Falls of Rough.
The Caneyville, Falls of Rough and Leitchfield Fire Departments, along with Grayson Co. Emergency Management, responded to the blaze Tuesday afternoon at approximately 4:45 in the 6000 block of Falls of Rough Road (Hwy 79).
When firefighters arrived, the two-story structure was nearly fully engulfed in flames. The home, which had been heavily renovated, resulted in firefighters reaching part of the fire through the roof of the residence.
Firefighters worked for several hours to extinguish the blaze, but despite their efforts, the home was a total loss.
Caneyville Fire Chief Brian Pharris said the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
There were no injuries reported. Firefighters didn’t clear the scene until 9:30 p.m.
