Grayson County restaurant, food inspection results for January; Huddle House has multiple violations with follow-up inspection showing no improvement

The Grayson County Health Center has released January’s food/restaurant inspection results.

There were several perfect scores recorded during January’s inspections, including Mr. Gatti’s, McDonald’s and Captain D’s. Huddle House, though, posted a score of 88 with several violations, including not having a “person in charge present.”

A follow-up visit to Huddle House 12 days later resulted in the exact same violations, except a supervisor was at the restaurant when the inspector arrived.

Yamato Japanese Steakhouse also struggled with the inspection, posting a score of 90 and a total of six violations.

Subway: Food score 97 – Violations: Food/non food contact surfaces need cleaning, outer opening not protected for back door of business.

Mr. Gatti’s: Food score 100.

Papa John’s: Food score 98 – Violations: Food/non food contact surfaces need cleaning, tile needs repair at bottom of wall in back of facility.

McDonald’s: Food score 100.

Walmart: Food score 99; Retail score 99 – Food violation: Drain needs repair in floor; Retail violation: Floor tile needs repair/replaced.

Center Court Food Mart: Food score 100; Retail score 100.

Leitchfield Shell: Food score 99; Retail score 100 – Violation: Cutting board needs replacing.

Farmer’s Feedmill: Food score 100.

Sandy’s Restaurant: Food score 98 – Violations: Food/non food contact surfaces need cleaning, tile needs repair at bottom of wall in back of facility.

Redneck Ranch: Food score 95 – Violations: Bulk containers not properly labeled in kitchen area, ice scoop not properly stored between uses, outer opening not properly protected.

Wendy’s: Food score 98 – Violations: Hand washing sink needs repair, floor tile needs repair by three compartment sink.

Dairy Queen: Food score 98 – Violations: Bulk food containers not properly labeled, cutting board needs replacing.

Captain D’s: Food score 100.

Sonic: Food score 97 – Violations: Food product not properly covered in holding units, ceiling vents need cleaning.

Huddle House: Food score 88 – Violations: Food product not properly covered in walk-in cooler, no person in charge present, ice machine needs repair, cooling units need repair, counter tops need cleaning, garbage disposal unity not properly covered, outer openings not properly protected in back storage area, ceiling vents need repair. Follow-up score 91 – Violations: Food product not properly covered in walk-in cooler, ice machine needs repair, cooling units need repair, counter tops need cleaning, garbage disposal unity not properly covered, outer openings not properly protected in back storage area, ceiling vents need repair.

Yamato Japanese Steakhouse: Food score 90 – Violations: Bulk containers not properly labeled, thermometers not conspicuous in refrigeration units, food product stacked on floor of walk-in cooling unit, food product not properly stored between uses, hair restraints not use during inspection, wiping cloths not properly store between uses.

Grayson County Senior Center: Food score 100.

Clearview Giving Hands: Food score 100.
