(Elizabethtown, KY) – Scotty’s Contracting will begin a resurfacing project along KY 3005 Monday between US 62 and Gaither Station. Motorists should expect lane closures in both directions resulting in one lane traffic through the area. Work will take two days to complete and should last from 7am to 5pm (Eastern) both days.
(Munfordville, KY) – Overnight into Monday morning, June 18th, contractors will be wedging I65 bridge ends over US 31W and CSX Railroad near Munfordville at Exit 65. Work will begin at 2am (Central) with closure of two outside lanes northbound and southbound. This will effectively close the on ramp from US 31W to southbound I65 and the off ramp from northbound I65 to US 31W. This will also reduce traffic to one lane in each direction. Motorists wishing to access these ramps will have to travel US 31W north and I65 north to the Bonnieville interchange (Exit 71) then return south to Exit 65. Work should be complete on these lanes by 8am and the exits will reopen. After 8am, the two inside lanes will close to complete wedging. Traffic will continue being reduced to one lane in each direction. Wedging of these bridge ends will eliminate rough transitions. Wedging of all lanes in both directions should be complete by 3pm Monday. Delays in both directions will be possible in the Exit 65 vicinity, especially midday and early afternoon.
On Tuesday, June 19th, wedging will take place on I65 bridges over Bacon Creek near Bonnieville at Exit 71. Work on Tuesday morning will also begin at 2am (Central) with closure of the outside two lanes northbound and southbound. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction but Exit 71 will remain open. Work should be complete on these lanes by 8am and then closure will switch to the inside two lanes. Traffic will continue being reduced to one lane in each direction. Wedging of these bridge ends will eliminate rough transitions. Wedging of all lanes in both directions should be complete by 3pm Tuesday. Delays will be possible in the Exit 71 vicinity, especially midday and early afternoon.
Also on Tuesday, June 19th, contractors will make shoulder repairs at southbound Mile Marker 66 near the location of a previous multivehicle crash. This work will also begin at 2am (Central) and should be complete before 3pm. During this time, the outside lane will be closed, reducing traffic to two lanes in the Mile Marker 66 vicinity.
