A Hardin County man has been charged with 20 counts of distributing child pornography, with half the charges involving a victim under the age of 12.
The Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch arrested 47-year-old James Earl Crain, of Vine Grove, on Thursday and charged him with 10 counts of distribution of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance (victim under 12 years of age) and 10 counts of distribution of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance
Crain was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The investigation was initiated after authorities discovered Crain sharing images of child sexual exploitation online, police said.
The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Crain’s Vine Grove residence where equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination.
The investigation is ongoing.
Crain was lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center on a $10,000 cash bond.
