Thousands in Grayson County remain without power Tuesday morning, and a National Weather Service (NWS) damage survey team will be in the county to determine if a tornado touched down during Sunday night’s thunderstorms.
As of early Tuesday morning, 4,269 Grayson County customers had no electricity, down from the over 5,500 without power early Monday morning. Warren RECC customers represent 3,900 of those without power early Tuesday, while 369 customers without electricity were Kentucky Utilities clients.
While outages dot the Grayson County map in every direction, the areas with the highest concentration of outages are Anneta and Wax, as those two regions account for over 1,500 powerless customers.
As of Monday afternoon at 2:45, Warren RECC had over 19,500 members without power statewide, according to a press release.
K105 has learned that on Tuesday, a NWS damage survey team will be in Grayson County, as the group will concentrate on structural damage in the western part of the county, but investigators also plan to inspect tree and other damage in additional sections of the county.
