A man and woman from Leitchfield have been accused of attempted kidnapping and other felonies.
James Cody Armes, 30, and Whitney N. Rigsby, 36, were indicted earlier this month by a Breckinridge County Grand Jury for attempted kidnapping (adult) and first-degree wanton endangerment. Rigsby was also indicted for possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
According to the arrest citation, the alleged crimes were committed on April 15, 2024.
Rigsby was convicted in Grayson County in February 2024 for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and tampering with physical evidence, according to the Kentucky Department of Corrections. She is on probation until March 2027.
Armes has been arrested several times since 2017, according to online records. Most of his arrests, though, have been for non-payment of fines/court costs, failure to appear and non-moving violations. In September 2020 in Breckinridge County, he was jailed for fleeing or evading police, possession of drug paraphernalia and non-payment of child support; the most serious charges Armes has previously faced.
