
An elderly man has died in an accident after a semi-truck crossed the center line in Meade County near the Breckinridge County line.
Kentucky State Police and the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division responded to the crash on Thursday morning at approximately 10:30 in the 14000 block of Hwy 60.
State police said its investigation showed that a semi, being driven by 77-year-old Marshall Morgan, of Guston, was traveling east on Hwy 60 when the vehicle crossed the center line and struck a Ford F-150, being driven by 74-year-old Glenda Ricketts, of Shepherdsville.
A passenger in the Ford, 80-year-old Jerry Ricketts, of Shepherdsville, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Meade Co. Coroner’s Office.
Glenda Ricketts and Morgan were transported to University of Louisville Hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to state police.
In addition to state police and the Meade Co. Coroner’s Office, responding to the accident were the Irvington Police Dept., Breckinridge Co. Sheriff’s Office, Meade Co. Sheriff’s Office, Breckinridge Co. EMS, Meade County EMS, and the Irvington, Ekron, Flaherty, and Ft. Knox Fire Departments.
The investigation is ongoing by KSP accident reconstructionist, Trooper Tyler Lynch.
