A plane has crashed into a home near Mayfield.

The Graves County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened at approximately 3:50 Thursday afternoon when the aircraft “landed (at the Mayfield-Graves County Airport) and the pilot was unable to get the aircraft stopped at the end of the runway. The aircraft continued through a grassy area, through a perimeter fence, across Hwy 58, and then into a residential structure.”

The home was occupied at the time of the accident but the occupant was not injured. The pilot, the only person on the plane, was also uninjured.

Local and state emergency management agencies were contacted as well as the FAA and NTSB, the sheriff’s office said.

According to the FAA website, the plane involved was a Cessna 525C, a mid-size business jet.

The aircraft’s registered owner is Stonecrest Capital LLC, based out of South Fulton, Tennessee, approximately 23 miles southwest of Mayfield.
