Two people are facing charges in Meade County after a baby was found deceased.

The Meade County Sheriff’s Office and Muldraugh Police Department responded on Tuesday morning to a hotel on Main Street in Muldraugh on the report of an unresponsive infant.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found a two-month-old baby deceased.

The couple occupying the room, 25-year-old Chance A. Baldwin, of Hudson, Colorado, and 23-year-old Felicianna A. Montez, of Pueblo, Colorado, told police they started drinking Monday night at around 8:00. The couple then woke up at approximately 4:00 a.m. Tuesday and found the infant unresponsive in their bed.

An 18-month-old child was also in the hotel room.

Baldwin and Montez were arrested by Muldraugh police and charged with second-degree manslaughter, first-degree wanton endangerment and first-degree criminal abuse of a child (victim under the age of 12).

They are being held in the Meade County Detention Center on $100,000 cash bonds.
