A Breckinridge County man is wanted on a murder charge after a female was found dead in a residence.
Kentucky State Police said troopers responded on Monday afternoon at approximately 1:00 to a home on Simpson Lane near Ekron in Meade County after the Meade County Sheriff’s Office discovered a deceased female, 55-year-old Mary Crase, at the residence.
Crase was suffering from “at least one gunshot wound,” state police said.
The suspect, 45-year-old Scott A. Hornback, of Irvington, fled the scene prior to law enforcement arriving and remains at large.
Hornback is a white male standing approximately five feet, eight inches tall and weighing 135 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes, state police said, although in two arrests this year, one in January and another in June, Hornback is bald (see below).
“The public is urged not to approach Hornback if seen,” state police said, “as he should be considered armed and dangerous.”
Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact KSP at 270-766-5078 or call 911.
The investigation is being led by KSP Post 4 Det. Travis Dalton, with assistance from other Post 4 detectives and troopers, the Meade County Sheriff’s Office, and the Meade County Coroner’s Office.
Additional updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
