The medical marijuana dispensary in Beaver Dam, the first to open in Kentucky, is reopening following its temporary closure after running out of product.
The business is slated to reopen on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The Post Dispensary owner Trip Hoffman told The Marijuana Herald that customers came as far as four hours away to purchase an eight-ounce package for $50 prior to the temporary closure. The cost of the product is expected to go down as additional cultivator operations begin bearing fruit.
Medical marijuana officially became legal in Kentucky on January 1, 2025, but the rollout has been slowed by legal requirements that all products be grown and processed in the commonwealth.
“While the law has been in effect for nearly a year, cultivation operations only began around five months ago, leaving dispensaries with limited early supply,” The Marijuana Herald reports.
A second dispensary has opened in Kentucky, as Speakeasy Dispensary opened on Alysheba Way in Lexington.
