An impaired Warren County woman has been accused of having an infant outside at 4:00 a.m. in frigid temperatures.
The Bowling Green Police Department conducted a welfare check Sunday morning at 4:00 near the intersection of Pascoe Boulevard and Pointe Avenue, a neighborhood off Scottsville Road just south of Greenwood Mall.
Upon arriving at the scene, police found 31-year-old Tiffani L. Atanasoff, of Bowling Green, on the ground next to an infant’s car seat, WNKY.com reports. Atanasoff displayed slurred speech and was unsteady on her feet.
The infant was not moving and was “very pale and had a blue tint to the eyelids and lips,” according to a report by WNKY.com, and was cold to the touch, as the baby’s arms and legs were exposed.
Police said that at the time, the wind chill was 18 degrees. The temperature, according to Time and Date, was between 28 and 30 degrees.
During a search, police located multiple bottles of alcohol in a diaper bag.
EMS was summoned to the scene and transported the infant to The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
Atanasoff was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal abuse, fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), alcohol intoxication in a public place, and resisting arrest.
She was lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail but is no longer listed as an inmate.
