An elected in Campbell County has been accused of having sexually explicit online conversations with what he thought was a 14-year-old.

The Kentucky Attorney General’s Office arrested 52-year-old Campbell Co. Property Valuation Administer (PVA) Daniel K. Braun, of Alexandria, on Thursday. He was charged with procuring or promoting the use of a minor by electronic means, a class C felony.

He was lodged in the Campbell County Detention Center on a $1 million cash bond.

FOX19.com reports that court documents accuse Braun of “having illicit and sexually explicit conversations online with someone he thought was a 14-year-old.”

The conversations, though, were between Braun and a detective with the Kentucky Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Braun has served as PVA since 2002. He faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
