Four people are dead in Adair County after a man shot and killed three of his family members.
The incident began Monday morning at approximately 11:30 when Adair County deputies responded to the report of a shooting on Chestnut Grove Road, approximately 10 miles southwest of Columbia.
Upon police arriving at the scene, a suspect fired at deputies from inside the residence. An hours-long standoff ensued, as police discovered multiple shooting locations around Adair County where three people were killed.
The suspect who barricaded himself is also now deceased. It’s unclear how the suspect died.
