
The Monroe County sheriff, who had 48 years of law enforcement experience, has died.
Dale “Frog” Ford, 70, of Tompkinsville, died Friday at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
“He was in law enforcement for forty-eight years serving as Tompkinsville Chief of Police for ten years and Sheriff of Monroe County for twelve years,” according to his obituary.
No cause of death has been released.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office posted the following tribute to Ford on its Facebook page:
“Last night as you all may know our department suffered a great loss. Dale “FROG” Ford who had devoted much of his life to law enforcement and was currently serving as the Sheriff of Monroe County. Frog never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone. He went above and beyond on a daily basis to protect and serve our community and to help anyone who was In need no matter what the situation was. Not only was he the Sheriff, he was a mentor, a friend, a brother, but most importantly he was family. We are all devastated and heartbroken for the fact that he has passed on but we will always keep in memory of all the times that we have shared together. At this time we as a department would like to express our deepest condolences to the family as you all are in our thoughts and prayers. We ask that you also keep our work family in your thoughts and prayers as well. Rest Easy 320 Sheriff Dale Frog Ford we have it from here.”
