Two teenagers were seriously injured when a side-by-side left a roadway.

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office said first responders were dispatched Wednesday morning at approximately 10:00 to the accident on Maxfield Road in Burna, about five miles north of Smithland.

The sheriff’s office said the side-by-side was occupied by two 18-year-old males, Kobe Lewis and Parker Mansfield, both of West Paducah, when the vehicle left the roadway and overturned multiple times.

Mansfield, according to the sheriff’s office, sustained “incapacitating injuries” and was airlifted to Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. Lewis suffered less severe injuries and was transported to Baptist Health Paducah.

Their current conditions have not been released.

The investigation remains ongoing.
