Teenager killed in DUI head-on crash near National Corvette Museum

A teenager has been killed in a DUI crash near the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green.

The head-on collision happened Saturday night at approximately 9:15 on Corvette Drive, according to a report by WNKY.com.

Police said the wreck occurred when 19-year-old Makyah L. Mackey, of Bowling Green, was struck head-on by a vehicle driven by 20-year-old Dajuan B. Sykes, of Bowling Green, who was passing a car in a curve.

Mackey was transported to The Medical Center at Bowling Green where she was pronounced deceased.

Sykes suffered only minor injuries. He was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide when under the influence of drugs/substance, DUI (aggravating circumstances), felony wanton endangerment, trafficking in marijuana, reckless driving, first-degree criminal mischief, and possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle.

He’s being held in the Warren County Regional Jail on a $1 million cash bond.
