A Grayson County woman likely suffered a medical emergency prior to crashing into a building.
The Leitchfield Police and Fire Departments and EMS responded to the accident Thursday evening at approximately 6:15 in the 800 block of Owensboro Road (Hwy 54).
Upon arriving at the scene, first responders found that a westbound Kia Optima left the roadway and traveled approximately 420 feet before striking the corner of a building. The Kia narrowly missed a wooden structure and metal sign pole as it traveled off the road.
The driver was transported to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center by EMS.
No one was in the building at the time of the collision.
Based on the driver’s condition, it’s possible she suffered a medical crisis, according to first responders.
