The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office recently responded to a call of a stalker in the 1000 block of Barnetts Station Road, in Hartford.

The female caller stated that 23-year-old Stoy Bratcher, of Beaver Dam, had been driving by her house and taking pictures of the residence, and then texting the pictures to a female juvenile that was inside the residence.

The caller parked in the roadway in an attempt to stop Bratcher until law enforcement arrived, but Bratcher drove through the ditch and continued driving while she was on the phone with 9-1-1.

Police said that about 30 minutes later, Bratcher called 9-1-1 and reported that his car had been shot several times while driving home from work. Upon interviewing Bratcher, he stated that the female who called 9-1-1 had shot his vehicle several times, but a lack of evidence at the scene, and also the audio recordings of the original 9-1-1 call, led deputies to believe that the car was shot at some other time.

When confronted with the evidence, Bratcher said he had proof on his cell phone, resulting in police obtaining a search warrant for Bratcher’s phone. No evidence was found related to Bratcher’s vehicle being shot, but police did discover child pornography on Bratcher’s phone, according to Ohio County Sheriff Tracy Beatty.

Bratcher was arrested and charged with unlawful transaction with a minor (illegal sex act with a person under 16), two counts of unlawful transaction with a minor (illegal sex act with a person under 18), two counts of use of a minor under 16 in a sexual performance, one count of use of a minor under 18 in a sexual performance, one count of promoting a sexual performance by a minor, one count of possessing matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor, two count of distribution of obscene matter to minors, and one count of distribution of matter portraying sexual performance by a minor.

He was lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center.

Bratcher was previously arrested in July of last year on fleeing or evading, wanton endangerment, DUI, and resisting arrest charges. He was busted again February 2017 for driving on a DUI suspended license and sentenced to six months in jail
