A Munfordville man has been arrested after intentionally setting a Hart County residence on fire.

On Wednesday morning at approximately 8:30, Kentucky State Police responded to a structure fire at 991 Wheeler Horton Road, about seven miles west of Munfordville.

When troopers arrived on the scene, they found the residence fully engulfed in flames, according to Kentucky State Police.

The preliminary investigation indicated four people were inside the residence when the fire was started, but all four exited the home. Further investigation by state police resulted in the arrest of 41-year-old Daniel D. Humphrey, who was charged with first-degree arson and three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.

Humphrey was lodged in the Hart County Detention Center.

The investigation continues and is being led by KSP Arson Investigator Terry Scott.
