Morgantown man busted in Fordsville with over pound of meth, $5K in cash

Friday night at approximately 5:30, Kentucky State Police conducted a traffic stop in Fordsville on a vehicle with an obstructed windshield.

Troopers identified the driver a 33 year-old Michael Chad Whitsell, of Morgantown, and discovered Whitsell had an arrest warrant for a parole violation.  He was also found to be driving with a DUI suspended license.

A search of Whitsell’s vehicle revealed nearly 1.5 pounds of methamphetamine, one ounce of marijuana and approximately $5,000 in cash.

Whitsell was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (meth), possession of a controlled substance (meth), trafficking in marijuana, possession of marijuana, careless driving, and driving on a DUI suspended license.

He was lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center where he’s being held on a $7,500 bond.
