2 Fort Campbell soldiers killed in helicopter crash

Two Fort Campbell soldiers were killed in a helicopter crash on Friday night.

The 101st Airborne Division said that the two soldiers, 37-year-old Chief Warrant Officer Ryan Connolly and 28-year-old Warrant Officer James Casadona, were killed when their AH-64E Apache helicopter crashed in a training area just before 10:00.

Officials said the crew was on a training mission at the time of the accident. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

“This is a day of sadness for Fort Campbell and the 101st Airborne,” said Brig. Gen. Todd Royar,” acting senior commander of the 101st Airborne Division and Fort Campbell. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the Families during this difficult time.”
