Hardin Co. teen accused of killing his seven-year-old brother

A Hardin County teenager has been charged with killing his young brother.

Hardin County Sheriff John Ward told media outlets that a 15-year-old boy strangled his seven-year-old brother. The boys’ mother called 911 after discovering the child unresponsive. The victim was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The incident occurred on Trappers Ridge Court, in Rineyville, on Thursday afternoon at about 12:00.

The juvenile suspect, whose name will be withheld until/if he’s official charged as an adult, is being held in a juvenile detention center.
