Two people have been injured in a collision on Elizabethtown Road.

Tuesday afternoon at approximately 3:15, Grayson County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Sonny Poteet and Deputy Sean Fentress, Clarkson Officer Blake Elmore, the East Grayson and Clarkson Fire Departments, and EMS responded to the two-vehicle accident in the 8300 block of Elizabethtown Road.

Upon arriving at the scene, police found that an eastbound Toyota passenger car, being driven by 51-year-old John DeFelice, of Leitchfield, was preparing to turn left onto Tulley Road when his view was partially blocked by the log truck he was following.

As DeFelice made the turn, he pulled into the path of a westbound Chevrolet Traverse, being driven by 68-year-old Rebecca Carroll, of Big Clifty. Police said both drivers attempted to avoid a collision, but did so in the same direction.

Carroll had to be extricated from her vehicle by Clarkson and East Grayson fire personnel.

Both drivers were transported by EMS to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
