A Leitchfield man has been arrested on drug charges following a neighbor dispute.

Friday afternoon at approximately 5:30, Grayson County Deputy Andy Vincent was dispatched to a neighbor dispute in the 1200 block of Duff Road where a man allegedly “presented a gun” to his neighbor as they argued, according to the arrest citation.

Upon arriving at the scene, Vincent conducted an investigation and interviewed both parties, including the suspect, 27-year-old Travis L. Sturgill. These conversations led Vincent to search Sturgill’s 2012 Kia Rio where the deputy located over five grams of methamphetamine.

Vincent also, according to the citation, suspected Sturgill was under the influence of a drug, as the suspect would not “make eye contact” with Vincent and “could not sit still,” the citation states. Sturgill, after initially denying smoking methamphetamine, later admitted to smoking the drug, according to the citation.

Sturgill was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), disorderly conduct, possession of drug paraphernalia, alcohol intoxication in a public place (excludes alcohol), and failure to notify address change to the department of transportation.

He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center but is no longer listed as an inmate.

Deputy Jason Luedke assisted at the scene.
