Kentucky State Police raised over $20,000 with its Cover the Cruiser fundraiser for Special Olympics Kentucky.

State police parked a cruiser at 16 locations around the commonwealth over a week in mid-May and raised $20,103.20, as people covered the cruiser with custom stickers for a minimum $1 donation. This year’s fundraising effort topped last year’s total by nearly $5,000.

“Thank you to everyone who made a donation and helped us cover the cruiser in custom SOKY stickers,” state police said. “All of the proceeds will support Special Olympics Kentucky.”

The annual Special Olympics Kentucky summer games were held on Saturday at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond.
