Kentucky State Police is investigating after a grandfather shot and killed his grandson.
Troopers responded to Big Blue Lane in the Kite community in Knott County Tuesday night at approximately 7:00 on the report of a shooting. Upon arriving at the scene, police found 22-year-old Kolby M. Hall, of Kite, deceased from a gunshot wound.
State police said the initial investigation indicated Hall arrived at 67-year-old Larry Hall’s residence in Kite and began making threats. An altercation occurred inside the residence, leading Larry Hall to shoot his grandson, according to KSP.
No charges have been filed. The results of the investigation will be presented to a Knott County Grand Jury for consideration.
This incident remains under investigation by KSP detectives.
