A Hardin County woman who struck a vehicle head-on, killing two toddlers and seriously injuring their pregnant mother has been indicted on murder and other charges.

Angela H. Chapman, 42, of Radcliff, was allegedly under the influence of drugs on the afternoon of November 13 when she crossed the center line of Dixie Highway (Hwy 31-W) in West Point, striking a vehicle and killing one-year-old Ja’Rell Hunter and two-year-old Ja’Reese Hunter.

Their mother, 28-year-old Jasilyn Gardner, who was driving and is pregnant, was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital.

The family is from Louisville and was on their way home from church, Hardin County Sheriff John Ward told The News-Enterprise at the time of the crash.

Chapman was not injured. She was indicted by a Hardin County Grand Jury on two counts of murder, first-degree assault, DUI (aggravating circumstances), and persistent felony offender, according to the newspaper.

She is being held in the Hardin County Detention Center on a $1 million cash bond.
