The Jeffersontown Police Department has seized over 100 pounds of cocaine during a traffic stop on a tractor-trailer.

On Wednesday, Jeffersontown officers observed a semi truck with a cracked windshield on Bluegrass Parkway. Police made contact with the truck driver, 44-year-old Eduardo J. Tapia, of Brownsville, Texas, who could not provide a commercial driver’s license.

WAVE.com reports that the arrest citation states that Tapia became visibly upset when police asked if they could search the truck. Officers then requested K-9 Maya.

During a walk around, Maya alerted on the truck. During the subsequent search police found 50 kilos of cocaine (110 pounds) in the sleeper cab.

Jeffersontown Police Chief Richard Sanders said the street value of the cocaine is more than $5 million.

The Jeffersontown PD and FBI are investigating the origin of the drugs.
