A Hardin County juvenile has been indicted on a murder charge after crashing while fleeing police.

Kentucky State Police responded to the crash at 3:10 Friday morning, September 8, at the intersection of Highland Avenue and Valley View Drive in Vine Grove.

The preliminary investigation revealed that an Elizabethtown police officer attempted to stop a 2010 Ford Flex for speeding on North Dixie Highway (Hwy 31-W), near Baptist Health Hardin. The Ford, being driven by 15-year-old Daniel Miller, of Radcliff, failed to stop and fled at a high rate of speed, police said.

The pursuit continued onto North Dixie Highway before turning onto Joe Prather Parkway where Miller lost control of the Ford and crashed, ending the pursuit.

Miller’s 20-year-old passenger, Jamari Whitfield, of Radcliff, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Hardin County Coroner’s Office. Miller suffered non-life threatening injuries.

A Hardin County Grand Jury, according to The News-Enterprise, recently indicted Miller for murder.
