A bridge replacement project will close a heavily traveled roadway in Edmonson County for three months.

“A project to replace a bridge on Hwy 70 (Morgantown Rd.) in Edmonson County is expected to create a long-term closure in early February,” Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3 said in a press release.

The road will close at Bear Creek at mile point 4.2 on February 5. The closure is expected to last 90 days and signage will alert drivers to detours using KY 187, KY 238, and KY 259.

“Motorists should allow extra travel as the detour will distance to the commute,” officials said, as the “closure is necessary so the bridge over Bear Creek can be replaced.”
