An Ohio County teenager is facing felony charges for allegedly “threatening acts of violence on minors,” according to the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident began Wednesday when the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the Daviess County Public School Police Department to assist in an investigation regarding 19-year-old Corey M. Long.

Long, according to police, was using social media to threaten minors.

“Long was using Snapchat to message minors and was threatening acts of violence on minors,” the sheriff’s office said. “It was also determined that Long pointed a gun at a minor and threatened to kill them.”

Deputies located Long and arrested the suspect without incident. Additionally, police found several firearms “with Long.”

Long, according to police, admitted he threatened minors online and pointed a firearm at a minor.

The suspect was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment and third-degree terroristic threatening. He is being held in the Ohio County Detention Center on a $15,000 cash bond.

The investigation is ongoing.

“The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Daviess County Public School Police for reaching out for assistance in this matter. We encourage parents and guardians to talk to kids about the importance of cyber safety. Keeping our children safe is a top priority of this agency,” Ohio County Sheriff Adam Wright stated.
