KSP: Leitchfield teen admits to sexually abusing child

A Leitchfield teenager has been arrested after admitting to sexually abusing a child.

Zack Wargo, 18, was arrested by Kentucky State Police last week and charged with first-degree sexual abuse (victim under the age of 12).

According to the arrest citation, Wargo, while being questioned, admitted to investigators to allegations that he sexually abused a child. The sex abuse occurred on March 27, 2024, the citation states.

The pertinent section of Kentucky Revised Statute 510.110 states that: (1) A person is guilty of sexual abuse in the first degree when: (a) He or she subjects another person to sexual contact by forcible compulsion; or (b ) He or she subjects another person to sexual contact who is incapable of consent because he or she: 1. Is physically helpless; 2. Is less than twelve (12) years old; 3. Is mentally incapacitated; or 4. Is an individual with an intellectual disability.

First-degree sexual abuse (victim under the age of 12) is a class C felony, punishable by five to 10 years in prison.

Wargo was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
