Roger Dale Parks, age 71, of Caneyville, KY, passed away Monday, (April 13, 2026) at his home.
He was born on December 29, 1954 in Jugville Holler, KY, the son of the late Hayward and Doris Shain Parks.
He was the head sawyer for Dunaway Timber Company. Roger enjoyed many things including hunting, fishing, gardening, mushroom hunting, watching Westerns, collecting antiques, attending auctions and working on cars and trucks. He was a member of the Baptist Faith.
He is survived by his sons, Paul Parks (Kim) of Morgantown, KY & John Parks of Caneyville, KY; seven grandchildren, Kaleb, Mason, Taylor, Brooklyn, Hailey, Kassie & Allison; 14 great-grandchildren with one on the way; three brothers, Curtis Parks (Patty), Danny Parks (Lori) & Jeff Parks (Gina); a sister, Carolyn Young; and a companion and caregiver, Bendetta Gary. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Adam Parks; two brothers, Junior and Joey Parks; and a sister, Laverne Sanders.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, (April 19, 2026) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Keith Shephard will be officiating. Burial will be in the Richland Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 9:00 a.m. Sunday until time of services.
